Sustainability and Democracy – The Role of Research for Navigating in an Era of Climate Change and Geopolitical Instability
We are pleased to invite you to join us for a special event celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mistra, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research. The event "Sustainability and Democracy – The Role of Research for Navigating in an Era of Climate Change and Geopolitical Instability" will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 16:00 to 19:00, at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU.
The event will gather around 50 decision-makers, researchers, and industry representatives to highlight the critical role of research and innovation in shaping a sustainable and competitive Europe focused on the circular economy.
Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy Jessika Roswall will deliver a keynote at the event. The following discussion will be moderated by Maria Wetterstrand and feature a panel of experts sharing valuable insights on key questions, such as:
Mistra is a leading research foundation dedicated to advancing sustainability through interdisciplinary research and innovation. Mistra plays a vital role in shaping policies and solutions that contribute to a sustainable and resilient Europe by supporting high-impact research programs that integrate environmental, social, and economic perspectives.
This event will also present Mistra’s impactful projects and serve as a platform to exchange ideas on policy, research, and innovation in shaping a sustainable and competitive Europe focused on circular economy. It will be held in English.
