Misum panel: The future of impact investing
Join the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Misum) for a breakfast panel conversation on the growing field of impact investing. Professor Bo Becker together with experts from the finance and investment sector will discuss key insights and future trends from investing for positive social and environmental impact.
Impact investing is a steadily growing field driven by investors who are determined to generate social and environmental impact alongside good financial returns. Impact investments are creating opportunities that address the world’s most pressing challenges across different sectors, contributing to wide-ranging sustainability goals, from advancing renewable energy to preserving biodiversity, setting up microfinance funds to ensuring access to affordable basic services. The Global Impact Investing Network approximated the global impact investing market at USD 715 billion in 2020. The promise is alluring – achieve social and environmental benefits together with strong financial returns.
On November 8, Misum is hosting a breakfast panel with industry experts to discuss current progress and future directions for the field of impact investing, given risks, challenges, and unfolding social and environmental crises.
The conversation will be led by Professor Bo Becker, the Cevian Capital Professor in the Department of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics, Head of the Department of Finance and Director of the Swedish House of Finance.
The event takes place at the Stockholm School of Economics on November 8, from 9:00-10:00 (coffee and breakfast from 8:45). Registration is required to participate. Register here.
For any questions reach out to Andreea Preluca, Misum Stakeholder Engagement Manager, andreea.preluca@hhs.se.
