Mistra researchers on the spot at Almedal this year

Representatives of many Mistra research programmes will be attending the politicians’ week at Almedal. Items on the week’s programme will include sustainable lifestyles, new threats to forests, and wise ways of working to combat climate change.

Taking part in this year’s Almedal Week in Visby, Gotland, from 3 to 10 July will be Mistra Urban Futures. This programme will be represented in items concerning just cities, sustainable lifestyles and co-production as a method of tackling complex societal problems.

Stockholm Resilience Centre will join in discussions about climate science and wise decisions, while Future Forests focuses on forests and whether they are climate-neutral or fossil-free. Future Forests also raises issues of new threats to forests, their role in a renewable bioeconomy and the form a new forest policy could conceivably take.

Two other research programmes, Mistra Biotech and Mistra Closing the Loop, will also be present in Almedalen.

The whole programme (in Swedish), which is still being updated with new activities, may be found at http://www.almedalsveckan.info/external link.
