Analysis of research potential in resource-efficient design

Mistra has appointed a working group to draw up a background report on resource-efficient design. This area is one under consideration for research in a new programme initiative.

A working group is to evaluate needs and opportunities in research on how products can be designed in order to keep longer and use a minimum of resources. The group comprises Jan-Eric Sundgren of Volvo; Winifred Ijomah of the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow; Tim McAloone of the Technical University of Denmark; and Walter Stahel of the Geneva Association.

The group is to identify possible areas for a call for funding applications, and the background report is intended to be finished in August. The contact person for this work at Mistra is Thomas Nilsson.
